Female 69 years Finnish

Oma- tai vuokra-asunto, Uusimaa

Description of everyday life

I'm a 69-year-old lady living right here in Helsinki, and I'd like to share a bit about my daily life. It all begins with waking up in the morning, like it does for many of us. You know, I have been on quite a journey to get to where I am today. When I first came to Finland, I was very sick, and I even lost my memory. Hypertension was a constant companion. But I'm so grateful that I started coming to the club for multicultural women and became more active. It's done wonders for my health, and I'm happy to say I don't suffer from hypertension anymore.

The most important people in my life are my children and my grandchildren. They bring me so much joy, and the highlight of my day is spending time with them, especially when we all sit down together to eat.

Now, when it comes to technology, I use digital devices like a phone and a computer. I'll be honest; I am a bit wary of the phone. Sometimes I worry it might do something to my brain. Still, I can use my phone without too much trouble. If I ever need help with something else, I turn to my grandchildren. They are quite handy with technology.

I am okay with technology, and if I could have my ideal gadget, it would be a robot that could clean the house and even go grocery shopping for me. That would be a real help! There have been some significant turning points in my life. One was when my ex-husband passed away, and another was when I got sick and lost my memory and even the ability to speak. It was a very scary time, especially being in a foreign country. But I'm thankful for the progress I've made and for the love and support of my family.
