Description of everyday life
I am a 70-year-old Vietnamese woman living in a rental apartment in Uusimaa region, Finland for 9 years now. My typical day starts late as I like to sleep in. After waking up, I meditate for an hour, cook lunch, and then do some cleaning and washing. The highlight of my day is going out to visit my peer group and dancing. I love to dance, and it makes me happy. I believe that celebration is an essential part of everyday life, and I attend at least one event a month.
I am an independent person and make my own decisions. However, I do have eye problems and have undergone an expensive operation recently. I am not sure if there is any service or technology that can help me, but I am open to suggestions. I am interested in beauty care and enjoy helping others. It gives me immense pleasure and enjoyment. As I grow older, I sometimes worry about my health. Whenever I feel lonely, I take a long walk to clear my head. If I need help, my daughter is always there for me.
Although I am satisfied with my current apartment, I plan to move closer to where my daughter lives in the future. I live near amenities and do all my shopping myself. I spend most of my time outdoors after my daily meditation. I also use some services outside my home, such as hairdressing and pedicure.
Regarding digital devices, I own a phone and a TV, but I do not know how to use them correctly. I believe technology is good, but I am not sure what kind of technology would be suitable for me as I do not have much knowledge about it. The most important person in my life is me! I believe that taking care of myself is crucial.
Moving to Finland and retiring were the significant turning points in my life. Meditation has helped me cope with the changes in my life, especially during the COVID-19 pandemic. I prayed a lot during those challenging times. The most important thing that I will never give up is my belief and hope.
